H.I.T Golf, hosted by Rick Shiels, put The SD-01 head-to-head with the Pro V1 — feel, spin, driver distance, durability. Unsponsored. Unbiased. Watch the full review and see why it scored 9.5/10.
Dean Klatt started Seed with one question: why are golfers paying so much for a ball that performs to the same regulated ceiling as every other ball on the market? The answer was retailer markup, celebrity endorsements, and decades of habit.
So he built something different. Proper golf balls, designed and engineered in Ireland, sold direct to your door. No pro-shop markup. No tour contracts. No nonsense. Just the same performance for a fairer price.
Four years on the Golf Digest Hot List later, golfers around the world seem to agree.
Bought this for my dad who is visiting Ireland.
Gave him a couple of yellow AF balls...he went back to South Africa to hit his 1st hole in one with the Yellow AF ball I gave him...well what can I say the rest is history...he Loves Seed balls
I have played the Vice Pro Plus for two years, but after reading the results of the Today's Golfer comparison with the Seed SD-02, I decided to give them a try. Although supporting an Irish brand, the reduced packaging and lower price were all great news, performance is key - and the SD-02 delivered. Using a salt solution, I tested all 50 balls for balance, and they were perfect! The build quality is every bit as good as Titleist Pro V1s. On the course, although the Seed SD-02 has a slightly softer compression than the Vice, with my 105mph driver swing speed, the Seed ball was quicker off the clubface and it flew noticeably further. With 336 dimples, the Seed Sd-02 is stable in the wind and easy to fade and draw. I particularly like the softer feel of these lower compression balls when chipping and putting, they inspire confidence. Bottom line? I'm a convert!
As a golfer that has been using Pro V golf balls for more years than I care to remember, I was very pleasantly surprised at how well the Seed SD-01 performed in comparison; Distance, loft, spin and feel all exceeded expectations.
I am a pretty average golfer and typically buy a bag of lake balls but heard wonderful things about the Seed balls. I can’t fault their quality and I would advise everyone out there that typically buy second hand balls to buy yourself the 50 box of Seed loosies. Great quality and they last longer than second hand lake balls.
Orange balls were for my friend who says they are easier to find in the rough! I have used SD 01 balls for many years because they are good value and equal to or superior to Titleist pro v 1 in performance.
