The tour ball for the rest of us™.
Lower compression provides more feel and spin control for golfers with average swing speeds. Soft cast urethane cover gives you the control you need from 100 yards in, and the confidence to go for all your shots. 3 piece construction gives you Tour performance with low compression for a great soft feel.
So I was really intrigued with the Seed ball as I have started to see more and more use them; what I didn't realise was the range and selection! This inspired me to try them out and at the same time, do a direct comparison with the ball that they are emulating (in their own unique way!).
The good is that it does have a lovely feel, great for irons and pitching and the putting also has a nice feel to it
What it did not do though is stack up to the ChromeSoft (the seed-05 suggested for this). In a direct comparison, I found that it was around 15 yards shorter on the drive, plus a "harder" feel on contact for the drive. To be fair, I was using the latest ChromeSoft LS, which I think could impact the distance, but this is a significant difference.
Cost wise when taking into account postage, they also worked out at the same price - although i am not looking at the subscription cost which would make this more economically viable
I like the underdog though, so will try the Seed-01 to see how it fares against my normal go-to of the ProV1
I've used the sd-01 ball from seed for awhile now which I think is the closest I can find to the tp5 taylomade ball but alot cheaper, I haven't used the the sd-05 as of yet I'm waiting for better weather, I'm expecting it to be a great ball like seed say because as far for me they are great balls for a fantastic price
